3 Soccer Dads
We are three dads in Huntington Beach, California who see each other nearly every weekend at our daughters' soccer games. We love our kids and we love soccer, and we love great craft beer! You can often find us enjoying a cold craft brew or two on the sidelines at games cleverly disguised in a travel coffee mug, or sometimes less cleverly in a red solo cup. Self-anointed Beer Nerd and overall great guy Jim frequently brings a sampling of something we have never tried before and a craft beer tasting session ensues! Our girls, now in high school, have been playing soccer here in HB since they were five years old!
Something was missing
Between cheering for our kids’ soccer team, expounding the virtues of delicious beers we were drinking, and eventually discussing where to find great craft beer, we realized there was no good bottle shop and tap room in Huntington Beach. The kind of place we could go and find almost any kind of beer and someone who knows and loves to tell us about it. And… not make us feel like beer idiots. Sure, Huntington Beach and Orange County have some of the best craft breweries in SoCal, but we wanted to do something a little different.
Matter of Craft is Born . . .
It took countless hours of research and development… And we mean LOTS of research. From coming up with what the perfect bottle shop and tap room should look like; how it should feel; where it should be; and what we should name it…. And that was just the start. We're just three soccer dads who love craft beer, good food, and Huntington Beach. If you do too, come enjoy a beer with us and buy some to enjoy at home! If you don’t know craft beer, don’t worry.
